Today, I took a journey to Clear Meadow Farms in Jarrettsville, Maryland to see the sea of sunflowers. What a beautiful sight! WOW! They bloom for about two weeks and I spent about three and a half hours photographing their beauty. So bright, cheery and just drop dead gorgeous!
I didn’t expect the millions of bees (can you tell this was my first time?) and I certainly didn’t expect the sticky bushes that looooved to snag my sundress. Hmmm. That made for an interesting adventure for hours of shooting but the backdrop for portraits and landscapes alike was undeniable. I took many photos and even a few selfies (ahhh!) and left with memories that will last for a lifetime. I took a break before sunset at a local eatery and ran back to make it in time for sunset. I found the spot where I wanted to set up for sunset and took off running towards the road… right into a sea of poison ivy…ugh! Bare legs and poison ivy = no bueno! After shooting my sunset pics, I went back to that local eatery and washed my legs in the restroom to hopefully wash off the poison ivy oil in time. After some strange looks and my pride clearly left in that restroom, I went back to my Jeep to hear click, click, click… Uh-oh, the battery… Nooooooo. I waited and tried a couple more times and finally it started. Soooo grateful, I raced home to upload some pics!
